My name is Michael Brennan and I am the Executive Director
of Every Child’s Hope (formerly Evangelical Children’s Home) in St. Louis,
Missouri. ECH as we refer to the agency is a multi-service child welfare and
behavioral health not for profit that serves children and youth from infancy
through the age of 21.
ECH founded in 1858 has a long history of providing services,
support and hope for a better tomorrow to children and families. In 2012, we
served approximately 1,300 different individuals through programs such as
residential treatment, foster care case management, early education,
transitional living for homeless youth, child psychiatry, a special education
school setting and a variety of
community mental health counseling services.
Given our long history of serving children and families we
are very invested in assisting the community to develop healthy and successful
life style skills that nourish and assist children and families to reach their
full potential.
To that end we have opinions, suggestions, musings and
internal staff expertise that we would like to share in a dialogue with our
community supporters and partners. In
the coming weeks and months ECH will respond to current events in society that
we feel impacts children and families or address other topics that we feel are
important for the successful development of healthy children and families. We
invite you to join with us in this journey and share your thoughts and lessons
learned as we all strive to be the best we can be.
